Geriatric Physiotherapy

Geriatric physiotherapy aims to help the elderly suffering from diseases and/or injuries, requiring interdisciplinary therapeutic. Due to its multidimensionality and the multitude of medical aspects, it requires understanding the etiology of individual diseases and their mutual dependencies in terms of their symptoms and consequences. Bearing these issues in mind, we have created a special catalog of problems and functional limitations among elderly patients:

  • Impaired mobility of the spine and peripheral joints as a result of surgery or prolonged immobilization.

  • Impaired muscle function in terms of spasticity, wasting, shortening, and hypotension (reduction of muscle tension).

  • Impaired motor control.

  • Imbalance and body posture.

  • Physioprophylaxis in the field of falls.

  • Pain therapy in the elderly.

  • Stimulating cognitive processes and maintaining motivation.

  • Sport of seniors, i.e., adapted physical activity of the elderly.

  • Education of the family and caregivers in the field of care and care for the elderly.

This physiotherapy branch aims to restore the fullest possible functional efficiency after procedures within the musculoskeletal system (bone and joint structure and muscles). It also emphasizes the prevention of sports injuries and physioprophylaxis of degenerative diseases of the spine and peripheral joints, including rheumatoid diseases (e.g., RA, ZZSK). It should be noted that the proverbial "escape from the scalpel" is not always possible. Therefore, we also support patients who have been qualified for elective surgery. We offer the following services:

  • Fractures within the spine and bones.

  • Injuries of the spine and peripheral joints.

  • Peripheral joint arthroplasty (the so-called "artificial joint").

  • Acute and chronic injuries of muscles and tendons, including conditions following surgery.

  • Scar therapy.

  • Post-traumatic complications.

  • Medical Functional Training as prophylaxis of diseases of the musculoskeletal system and an element of patient preparation for surgery.

Neurology and Neurosurgery Physiotherapy

neurology and neurosurgery physiotherapy focuses on injuries and diseases of the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord) and the peripheral nerves. Many of the bone-joint and muscular systems problems are neurological.

Modern neurological physiotherapy offers a wide range of therapeutic possibilities in the field of neuromuscular reeducation. We offer the following services:

  • Conditions after an ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke.

  • Conditions after injuries to the head and spinal cord.

  • Conditions after injuries of peripheral nerves - peripheral paralysis.

  • Chronic vegetative states.

  • Treatment of acute and chronic pain such as sciatica.

  • Headache and dizziness.

  • Neurosurgical operations on the spine and peripheral nerves.

Here we deal with the prevention and the therapy of issues resulting from cardiovascular diseases, which have a decisive impact on the patient's mobility and quality of life. Properly selected kinesiotherapy increases the supply of oxygen, thus improving exercise tolerance. Also, the feeling of breathlessness is reduced. our care aims at people who suffer from the following illnesses:

Bronchial asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

Conditions after thoracic surgery (thoracic surgery).

Coronary artery bypass ("bypass") and pacemakers (pacemakers).

Hypertension and hypotension.

Ischemic heart disease.

Diseases of the peripheral arteries and venous insufficiency.

Pediatrics Physiotherapy

A physiotherapy branch focusing on the problems of our youngest patients. Particular attention is drawn to the fact that these disorders are often completely different than those found in adults. Therefore, modern pediatrics sets itself more and more tasks in the planning and implementation of the rehabilitation program itself and in properly conducted prophylaxis based on the latest guidelines of Scientific Societies. The following services are offered as pediatric care:

  • Physioprophylaxis and treatment of posture defects - spine (scoliosis, flat back, concave and convex, concave-convex), feet (flat feet).

  •  Elements of sensory integration (vestibular and visual-motor systems, deep sensation, balance, and coordination exercises).

  •  Initial assessment of psychomotor development disorders in the neonatal and infancy period.

  • Injuries within the musculoskeletal system (conditions after fractures, sprains, sprains).

Urogynecology Physiotherapy

  • Therapy of the aftermath of mastectomy.

  • Treatment of back pain in pregnant and puerperal women.

  • Painful periods.

  • Relaxing massage with elements of yoga for pregnant and puerperium women.

  • Incontinence of urine, stool, and gas.

  • Abdominal rectus muscle dehiscence therapy.

  • Pelvic floor muscle therapy

  • Cesarean incision scar and perineal scar therapy.

  • Hypopressure therapy - proper activation of the abdominal press.

  • Adapted physical activity in pregnant and puerperium women.

  • Education in the field of correct movement patterns in pregnant and puerperium women and lactation.

Let us deal with the "taboo" subject, the dysfunction reported by pregnant women, and the postpartum period. Any physiological process taking place in a woman's body also has its somatic consequences that affect her general well-being, quality of life, or just her self assessment. Properly selected therapy can alleviate many ailments and contribute to a faster return to general fitness. Below we present the area of our activities in these aspects:
